Nuwave Air Fryer Reviews – Brio 6 Quart Digital Air Fryer
NuWave Brio 6 Quart Digital Air Fryer – Black with NuWave Brio Air Fryer with 3 Piece Gourmet Accessory Kit
Good day everyone! Today we’ll be talking about the NuWave Brio 6 Quart Air Fryer in the segment “Nuwave Air Fryer Reviews”. Will it live up to your expectations? Let’s find out by taking a look at “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!”
Greaseless/No Oil needed
With everyone being so health conscious nowadays, people are looking for an alternative that can aid in the kitchen without giving away flavor. If you still want to add oil to your products, you can, but it isn’t necessary. Just throw those french fries in the device and hit “Start”. That’s it! You may adjust the settings if you want for different foods or hit the buttons that are already preset. Whatever the case may be, the end result will be a burst of deliciousness!
This particular Nuwave air fryer comes with an Accessory Kit Fit that fits the sizes of all air fryers in this product line. The different sizes include: 3 Qt.,4.3 qt, 6 Qt., and 10 Qt. Nuwave Air Fryers! The 10qt air fryer is the largest I’ve seen on the market so if you’re looking for a nice size, that’s the way to go.
Don’t get me wrong, the 6 Qt is a decent size as well, but some people want to go big or go home. Its easy to use, easy to move and can heat up your food with relative ease. This air fryer can also bake, roast, grill, broil or toast.
There are a few people that think air fryers are just glorified conventional ovens. This couldn’t be further from the truth. If I made some chicken and put it in my personal conventional oven without preheating, it would take over an hour. Granted you should preheat your air fryer before cooking, it usually takes about 5 minutes.
When I throw chicken in MY air fryer, its ready in 25 – 30 minutes depending on how crispy I want it to be. We rarely use our oven anymore because of the air fryer.
This fryer gives you control on how to cook your food and you may adjust according to your liking. There are some air fryers out there that consumers are having difficulties shutting off once their meal is completed. This one has an automatic shut off and an advanced touch screen display.
Maybe you want to show it off over your friend’s house? There’s a retractable power cord built in so you can transport it easily. When cooking, the device will curate temperature control from 100-400 degrees with 5 degree adjustments. Cooking has never been easier with the Nuwave air fryer!
There are a lot of consumers raving about their food coming out crispy, while at the same time maintaining their moistness. Don’t forget, with any new device, you need to get to know it first. What works for other consumers, may not be what’s best for you. With my conventional oven, I often read recipes that say I need to put something at 350 degrees.
I know that for my particular oven and for my tastes, I need to set it to 450 degrees. If the Nuwave Air Fryer doesn’t do what you expect it to do the first couple of times, adjust the settings outside of the recommended parameters to adjust for your liking. This will help alleviate some stress in the future because you now know what to expect.
Buttons Rub Off
The majority of the Nuwave Air Fryer Reviews aren’t too bad, but it’s my duty to point out the negative as well, to aid you in making an informed decision once you decide to make a purchase.
A common complaint among consumers is that the buttons will rub off after a certain amount of uses. This product isn’t too expensive, but it isn’t cheap either. You would think a device that costs this much would not have it’s buttons rubbing off when consumers used it.
Since the text of the buttons have been rubbing off for a number of consumers, they now have trouble figuring out what buttons to press when they start up their air fryer again.
Too Small for Large Family
I don’t think this is that big of an issue. There are consumers that love their air fryers so much that they have 3 in their household! The Nuwave 6QT air fryer is a decent size but is probably only capable of feeding a family of three in one sitting.
They do have another one in their product line that is a 10QT which might be a better alternative for bigger families. When these devices come out, they say they are big enough to feed a certain amount, but for the average American family those numbers are usually untrue. That also depends on each individual’s weight and eating habits as well. I’m not that big of a guy but, I can eat a “Family Size” bag of chips by myself.
Plastic Smell/Poor Quality
This seems to be a common compliant with almost all air fryers. When it is brand new, there is going to be a plastic smell. I never had one, because I washed mine BEFORE I put food in it. I don’t know, maybe it’s the cook in me, but if something is brand new, out of the box that I’m going to EAT out of, it is in my nature to clean it first before using it to cook.
If you opt not to wash the section you’re going to cook with first, the plastic smell will go away over time, although I don’t recommend using this method.
I kind of already mentioned the poor quality above with the text being removed but there are other factors that come into play. The non-stick coating may peel and bubble up even after replacing it.
This is VERY RARE, I could only find one complaint about it but I try to find any ugly issues for your benefit. Keep in mind that whenever you buy a product, there are thousands being made and distributed throughout the world so there are bound to maintenance issues. Apparently this product has a tendency to shut off and never turn on again.
In this isolated incident, the fryer worked for about 5 – 10 minutes and the device shut down completely. The consumer was more upset that the company asked them to pay $40 to replace the product. No, this is the company’s fault, they need to make it right at no cost to the consumer.
This is the most common complaint so I’m going to mention it again. The device has a tendency to peel when it’s used for a certain amount of time. These complaints are few and far between but the Nuwave may rust on you, causing cooking issues in the future.
Wrapping it Up
When I write these articles, I am not trying to sway your decision one way or another. I am doing my best to inform you on a product so you can make the best choice for yourself. I will mention that this particular air fryer is one of “Amazon’s Choices” and currently has a 4 star rating on their website.
When I mention “The Bad and The Ugly”, I want you to be aware of issues that you may or may not run into so you can feel like you made an informed decision. This section is not what the majority of consumers experience, only a select few, as with anything, you will have to make your financial choice at your own risk.
